Categories
Material In this category newly developed or already existing materials can be submitted. In demand are pure materials, for which no applications must have been found.. Also technical materials that are bound to serial production are suitable. A material sample with information on the most important material properties is required. for the jury meeting.
Product This category is for products from all sectors of the economy that are already in production and in which new or familiar materials and material properties are innovatively applied (conductive, luminous, energy-storing, material-saving etc.) Original products or prototypes and scale models are required for the jury session; an accompanying material sample is desirable.
Surface This category is dedicated to new production processes and novel surfaces. For the jury meeting, contestants need to submit a description of the production process or surface, supported by a material or product sample. An example of use is desirable.
CO2 Efficiency In this category materials, products, surfaces, technologies or processes can be submitted, that are demonstrably reducing CO2 emissions. This may occur e.g. by savings in material components, lower energy costs in manufacturing or processing. But also raw material conservation, recycling or the reduction of manufacturing steps contribute to relive the environment.

A CRAFT DESIGN lança o 2º Prêmio CRAFT DESIGN – Objetos de Decoração, que tem como objetivo incentivar e divulgar a criatividade, o empreendedorismo e a inovação do setor de decoração no Brasil, destacando o talento de designers, decoradores, artístas e empresários que propõem novas soluções para objetos de decoração utilitários ou decorativos.
Os projetos serão avaliados pelos seguintes critérios: apresentação, inovação, originalidade, perspectiva mercadológica, viabilidade de produção, qualidade, segurança e impacto ambiental.
Prazo de inscriçoes: 10 de junho de 2009

A edição 2009 do Prêmio ABRE de Design & Embalagem apresenta nova estrutura focando em cada elo da cadeia produtiva de embalagem.
A participação no Prêmio ABRE é exclusiva a empresas operantes no Brasil. As embalagens inscritas no concurso devem ter sido criadas e/ou produzidas no país e já ter circulação em território nacional – exceção feita às inscritas na categoria “Exportação”, cuja embalagem deverá ter circulação no exterior.
Na edição 2009 do Prêmio ABRE de Design & Embalagem somente poderão ser inscritas embalagens desenvolvidas entre o período de 1º de janeiro de 2008 a 30 de junho de 2009.

Pode ser feita até o dia 15 de abril a submissão de trabalhos para o “Graphica’09″, evento que compreende o “19º Simpósio Nacional de Geometria Descritiva e Desenho Técnico” e a “8th International Conference on Graphics Engineering for Arts and Design”, que acontecerão entre os dias 6 e 9 de setembro no Campus Bauru da
Unesp (Universidade Estadual Paulista). Esta é a segunda edição do Prêmio IDEA/Brasil, a rodada brasileira do International Design Excellence Award (IDEA), o maior prêmio de design dos Estados Unidos e um dos maiores do mundo, promovido desde 1980 pela Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
O IDEA/Brasil é uma realização da Associação Objeto Brasil em parceria com a Agência de Promoção das Exportações e Investimentos (Apex-Brasil), com o endosso da Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). Conta com o apoio das mais importantes organizações empresariais, profissionais e acadêmicas relacionadas com o setor, e a chancela de um Conselho Empresarial representativo dos diferentes segmentos do mundo dos negócios.
Os vencedores do IDEA/Brasil são inscritos automaticamente no IDEA Award, nos Estados Unidos.
Já em sua primeira edição, em 2008, o IDEA/Brasil consagrou-se como o maior e mais representativo prêmio de design brasileiro, com 343 produtos concorrendo, dos quais 53 foram premiados no Brasil e 12 nos Estados Unidos.
Os premiados no IDEA/Brasil participam de exposições nas principais capitais brasileiras e nos Estados Unidos, divulgadas pela imprensa nacional e internacional.

The BraunPrize seeks to promote the work of young designers from all over the world, to recognise the work of design schools and to help develop a greater appreciation of the factors and criteria which make for good product design.
Furthermore, it serves to make the ingenuity and creativity of young designers accessible to the public and to provide a link between young designers and industry or potential clients.
The total prize money amounts to € 36,000.
The winner of the BraunPrize will receive € 12,000 in prize money and a (paid) six-month internship in the Design department at Braun.
The other finalists will each receive a prize of € 5,000. The remaining prize money will be distributed in the form of special recognition awards at the discretion of the jury.
The best entries will be presented in the travelling BraunPrize Exhibition and will also be published in the international press and on the internet. The travelling exhibition seeks to provide an insight into current trends in design and design training around the world.

Riding bikes is environmentally friendly. Thats nothing new, but it does take on a whole new dimension when we start talking about the climate debate. According to futurologist Matthias Horx, the bicycle is benefiting hugely from the climate change: The first evolutionary winner of the climate change is the bicycle. It is becoming a fully acceptable means of transportation that the executives of tomorrow will use to get to work. In his latest trend report, the renowned scientist announces that the boom of the bicycle in the general public will create a diverse service and lifestyle culture all revolving around the pedals.
Outstanding design can provide valuable guidance in a large market. The EUROBIKE AWARD 2008, which will be presented for the fourth time this year, shows consumers what is innovative and functional as well as environmentally friendly and sustainable on the topic of bicycles. And one thing is sure: the EUROBIKE AWARD has established a name for itself in the bike industry as an exceptional marketing instrument.
New categories were defined for the competition this year for example Cruiser/Designbike as well as Special Purpose Bike. The latest adding to the list of categories is Concepts. In addition to manufacturers and designers students are also welcome to participate by entering experimental drafts of products and studies that have not yet been implemented.

We are proud to announce that FILE Labo, the new media laboratory of Electronic Language International Festival, is now launching its first call for project proposals.
The LABO is a free territory for creation and invention; an independent and collaborative network for the development of art, science and technology, located in São Paulo, at the SESI Vila Leopoldina Cultural Center, and devised under a platform of collaboration among creators and professionals of different areas. There, you will find collaborators from technical, theoretical, and political-cultural areas, who will follow and support the development of your proposal.

1. Finalidade Promover o jovem designer universitário e estimular o desenvolvimento de produtos adequados à nossa realidade social, cultural e tecnológica.
2. O Objeto do Concurso 2.1 O objeto do concurso é a criação de um produto sob o tema “ESTUDAR”, ou seja, um móvel que faça parte da atividade de estudar em casa ou no escritório. Consideramos vitais: a ergonomia, a organização e a concentração para a eficiência dessa atividade.
2.2 Este produto deverá apresentar as seguintes características: – Utilização de no máximo 3 matérias-primas para a sua construção. Não serão contabilizados aqui sistemas de fixação, parafusos e cola. – Que apresente em seu conceito uma filosofia adequada aos princípios que regem a Tok&Stok, ou seja: contemporaneidade, jovialidade, minimalismo, solução, preço adequado ao público alvo, condições de armazenagem entrega, e retirada pelos clientes.
3. Participação 3.1 Poderão participar deste prêmio alunos regularmente matriculados em cursos de Design de Produto e de Tecnologia Moveleira de nível superior, reconhecidos ou autorizados pelo MEC.
